 Airstream

I'm just back from day testing the new Mk4 Airsteam, available now in .177 only (.22 will follow in about a weeks time)

I tested the silencers I had in my collection on a Huntsman Classic. The sound meter was set up at one meter in front and one meter to the left of the muzzle. The gun was topped up with air after each test.

I was happy to see the results show the new silencer to be quieter than any of those tested. (The test was carried out outside the factory).

The results are as follows

Daystate MK4 Airstream - 61.3db
Weihrauch - 65.5db
Logun QGS - 66.1db
Parker Hale MM1 - 69.5db
ASE Ultra - 67.1db
Manders - 69.7db
Daystate Compact Carbon Fibre - 74.1db
Ripley 9" - 65.1db
UK Neil - 72.5db
John Bowkett Long - 63.7db
Jim Edge - 70.2db

The results were noted and are conclusive proof that the new Airstream MK4 is the quietest in this application.
The unit adds around 3 inches to the length of the gun, its 10% lighter than the Weihrauch too.

A word of advice before you buy one of these silencers - loctite the adaptor into the shroud prior to screwing it on. If this instruction is ignored the 1/2" unf adaptor can unscrew from the shroud and remaining in the silencer.

Priced at £55 its the quietest silencer on sale.

I have fitted it to my MK4 and its shorter than the previous cut down shroud and Bowkett set up.
